Fishing
regulations and code of ethics
To
ensure resource conservation, only catch and release is allowed
for large salmon (longer than 63 cm). The angler can keep up to
two grilse (less than 63 cm) per fishing day.
For
the same reason, we have adopted a code of ethics, which will become
a fishing regulation in 2006, authorising the angler to capture
no more than 5 trout a day. These measures allow us to maintain exceptional sea trout
fishing quality on our river.
For
Sectors A, B, C and D, the fisherman must :
-
Perform catch and release for large salmon (more than 63 cm);
-
Have a valid Quebec salmon fishing licence (sold in the ZEC's entrance
office);
- Obtain an access right from the ZEC according to the chosen sector;
- Register his captures at the end of the day;
- Do fly fishing only.
For
Sectors E and F, the fisherman must :
-
Release all salmon caught, for salmon fishing is closed in those
sectors;
- Have the proper Quebec sport fishing license (sold in the ZEC's
entrance office);
- Obtain an access right from the ZEC according to the chosen sector;
- Register all his captures at the end of the day;
- Fly fishing only.
